Pilot studies of a human BCG challenge model

In this study, five volunteers were challenged with BCG intradermally (ID). Swab specimens were collected at multiple time points from the vaccination site pre- and post-vaccination to quantitate mycobacterial shedding as a surrogate of in vivo mycobacterial immunity.
