Preface

Despite advances in the care of patients with varices and variceal hemorrhage, an overall mortality of 10 –20% still remains. Strategies that encompass a multidisciplinary approach with the latest developments in periprocedural management and technology will further optimize patient care and improve survival following an episode of variceal hemorrhage.
