Patient experiences of a combined exercise and acceptance and commitment therapy group based programme for chronic pain. a qualitative study

Background: Multidisciplinary pain management programmes (PMPs) are recommended for chronic pain. Exercise is well established as an effective treatment and there is emerging evidence to suggest that acceptance and commitment therapy (ACT) is an effective psychological approach for chronic pain. There is a notable lack of qualitative research in this area, particularly with regards to multidisciplinary PMPs which combine ACT with exercise interventions.
