Clinical usefulness of 18F –FDG PET/CT for initial staging and assessment of treatment efficacy in patients with lymph node tuberculosis
Few studies have evaluated the promising role of 18F –fluoro-2-deoxy-D-glucose positron emission tomography (PET) and PET/computed tomography FDG PET/CT in evaluating and monitoring treatment response in patients with lymph node tuberculosis (LNTB). The aim of this clinical investigation was to assess the clinical usefulness of FDG PET/CT for initia l tuberculosis staging and to dertermine the prognostic value of the decrease of 18F–FDG uptake during antibiotic treatment in LNTB patients.
