Viral Warts (HPV) as a Potential Risk for Breast Cancer among Younger Females
The role of viruses in the etiology of breast cancer has been acknowledged for over 100 years [1]. Viruses that are associated with human cancer are known as “tumor viruses” or “oncoviruses” and have played an important role in cancer biology [2,3]. It is estimated that viruses may cause approximately 15% of all human cancers [4]. Researchers have explored the relationships between viruses and cancer, such as HBV, HCV and EBV reported as prognost ic factors of cancers [3,5]. This research investigates the association of viral warts (HPV) with the top 10 cancer groups in Taiwanese population.
