Estrogen receptor β, a potential prognostic and therapeutic marker in urothelial carcinoma, is altered by associating schistosomiasis

Conclusion: The current study reports for the first time the statistically significant decline in the immunohistochemical expression of ER-β in UCs associated with schistosomiasis. A prospective validation of these findings may further establish the utility of ER-β as a marker for prognosis or possible target for therapy.
