Academic Progression in Nursing, Reviewing the Past 5 Years

As you are aware, shortly after the Institute of Medicine released the Future of Nursing: Leading Change, Advancing Health, the Robert Wood Johnson Foundation (RWJF) launched the funding of the Academic Progression in Nursing (APIN) initiative as a 5-year grant program. The Organization for Associate Degree Nursing (OADN) was honored to be asked to represent associate degree nursing (ADN) on the RWJF APIN National Advisory Committee. The grant recently concluded, and I was asked to provide the 40,000 foot perspective from OADN's viewpoint.
