S1pr1 KO (S1pr1 tm1Rlp) Mouse

A Sphingosine-1-phosphate Receptor-1 (S1pr1) knockout mouseSphingosine-1-phosphate (S1P) is a potent bioactive lipid that activates a family of G-protein coupled receptors, S1P1, S1P2, S1P3, S1P4 and S1P5. The S1P1 receptor is widely expressed and has critical functions in the immune, cardiovascular and nervous systems. It is a target for Fingolimod (brand name: Gilenya???), an immunomodulating drug, FDA approved for treating multiple sclerosis. The S1pr1 knockout mouse and the S1pr1 floxed mouse are useful for studying the function of the S1P1 receptor.
