Initiative for Molecular Profiling and Advanced Cancer Therapy and Challenges in Implementation of Precision Medicine

Precision medicine is a form of medicine that uses information about a person ′s genes, proteins, and environment to prevent, diagnose, and treat disease. Initially, the term “precision medicine” was used to describe targeting tumor molecular abnormalities with drugs known to inhibit the function of a molecular alteration. In recent years, precision medicine has include d the development of therapeutic agents that target any biological abnormality that is associated with the development of cancer.
