This article gives an overview about the intriguing relationship between vitamin D and type 2 diabetes and explores the mechanisms which can potentially confirm the hypothesis of altered vitamin D levels and dysglycaemic status, and whether vitamin D replacement could possibly become a therapeutic strategy in managing people with type 2 diabetes in the future.
