Publication date: Available online 3 February 2017 Source:Apollo Medicine Author(s): Raju Vaishya, Sagar Chhetri, Abhishek Vaish, Amit Kumar Agarwal, Vipul Vijay One case of biplanar isolated fracture and dorsal dislocation of the tarsal navicular is reported in a 72-year-old male. We had analyzed the mechanism of injury which suggested that the dislocation of the navicular cannot occur without a fracture because of anatomical considerations. These types of injury always require anatomical reduction and stable fixation, and it is mandatory to restore the keystone function of the navicular to the longitudinal arch of the foot.
