#PeakPerformanceWeek @OTheoryFitness

Today we finished Day 5 of Peak Performance Week.  For those who have not yet tried OTF (Orange Theory Fitness), I will try to explain the brilliance of this week. We all work out for personal reasons.  Some start to assist with weight loss or weight maintenance (exercise is not enough, but it does help many); some want to improve their overall fitness; some see fitness as an important lifestyle for good health.  I will admit to having all three above motivations. Regardless, as you become committed to a workout routine, your would like some objective data that your fitness is improving.  For the weight loss bunch, the data present daily on your bathroom scale.  While I greatly value weight maintenance and good health, I would like to see that my fitness has improved. Enter Peak Performance Week.  For 5 days, you have a daily challenge: 2 running challenges, 2 rowing challenge, and a floor challenge.  I will admit that the floor challenge seems the weakest for me, but the other 4 are brilliant. The rowing challenges are both races – 500 meters and 2000 meters.  Your goal is to record your best possible time. The running challenges are distance in 24 minutes and a 1 mile run. PPW repeats every 6 months.  So you have a great way to measure fitness gains if they are occurring.
