On May 14, 2014, a day long symposium will be held at the National Library of Medicine. The symposium will review the influence of NLM’s long range planning, as it interacted with outside developments, over the past 30 years. It will reflect on key factors that contributed to successes and setbacks; and it will consider opportunities for the future  –  all as background for the next NLM long range planning effort, to commence in 2015. A complete program is available on the Friends of the NLM web site. For those of us unable to attend the symposium will be simulcast. When: May 14, 2014 6:30 am – 2:00 pm MT, 7:30 am – 3:00 pm CT Where: http://videocast.nih.gov/. The recording of the symposium will be archived at this same URL.
