Cardiovascular disease risk in patients with schizophrenia

Rekhi Gurpreet et al. conducted a study titled as ‘Estimating 10-year cardiovascular disease risk in Asian patients with schizophrenia’ [1]. The authors must be complimented for conducting this comparative cross-sectional study to examine the cardiovascular disease (CVD) risk using Framingham risk score (FRS) [2], and specially FRS using body m ass index (FRSBMI) which was used first time in patients with schizophrenia. BMI is more feasible and cost effective than blood lipids in a clinical setting.
