Alcohol Research UK Annual Review 2015-16
Our Annual Review 2015-16 contains information on the wide range of work that we have supported over the year. Among the highlights, we have:
Awarded almost £584,000 in grants
Provided funding for Alcohol Policy UK, Drug and Alcohol Findings, and DrugWise
Granted 17 studentships, including funding support for six new PhDs.
Continued our highly successful annual conference and early career symposium
Provided conference support for partners including the Medical Council on Alcoholism, Alcohol Focus Scotland and Jobs, Friends and Houses
Commissioned a major independent review of our grant making over the last 30 years
Completed a major review of our Research Strategy
Our Chairman, Professor Alan Maryon-Davis, says:
“This has been a pivotal year for Alcohol Research UK which started with a comprehensive analysis looking at the impact of our work over the past 30 years. I’m delighted to say that the conclusion of that study shows the very positive impact our work has in helping to reduce alcohol-related harm in the UK.
