Congenital Giant aneurysm of the right atrial appendage: Fetal diagnosis and treatment

Giant aneurysm of the right atrial appendage is an exceedingly rare congenital abnormality. Only eight previous cases of right atrial appendage aneurysm (RAAA) present in neonates could be identified in the literature to date. The etiology and natural history of this condition remains poorly understood. Here we present the case of a giant RAAA diagnosed in utero at 20weeks gestation and which enlarged steadily until birth. The condition was corrected surgically by aneurysmectomy at three weeks of age.
