Dual right coronary artery – A rare congenital coronary artery anomaly

Publication date: Available online 22 October 2016 Source:Journal of Indian College of Cardiology Author(s): Naresh Kurakula, Rajasekhar Durgaprasad, Vanajakshamma Velam A 55-year-old woman presented with typical angina at rest of 2 days duration. She underwent coronary angiogram (CAG) which revealed non-dominant left coronary artery (LCA) and mid part of left anterior descending coronary artery (LAD) had significant stenosis and left circumflex artery had insignificant disease. Contrast injection in right coronary sinus revealed dual right coronary arteries with two separate ostial origins from same sinus and both arteries coursing towards right atrioventricular groove. Particularly selective coronary angiography for RCA with deep engagement may miss the diagnosis, care full CAG evaluation is important to diagnose dual RCA.
