The American Cancer Society estimates that approximately 2600 men would be diagnosed with breast cancer in the United States in 2016,1 which accounts for 1% of all breast cancer cases (in both sexes), and no more than 0.03% of all new cancers in men.1 Approximately 440 men would die from breast cancer in 2016, with a mortality rate of 17%, which is almost identical to the risk of mortality from breast cancer in women, and this accounts for 0.13% of all cancer deaths in men.1
