Leprosy simulating systemic sclerosis: a case report

We report a case of leprosy with skin thickening, distal phalanx resorption and facial telangiectasia, simulating systemic sclerosis. Due to a considerable prevalence in Brazil, and also considering the deformities that can be caused by a delay in diagnosis and treatment, leprosy should be put forward by the rheumatologist as a diagnostic hypothesis in patients with musculoskeletal involvement.
