As marijuana access expands, research seeks to shed light on use disorders

Given the high number of states that have either adopted or seriously considered measures allowing marijuana use for medical or recreational purposes, it remains surprising that many knowledge gaps persist regarding the health implications of wider access to the drug. Moreover, there is an even more gaping hole in the understanding of the trajectory of actual marijuana use disorders, compared with the field's familiarity with general trends in marijuana use.
