Embryonal rhabdomyosarcoma of oral cavity with extensive osteolysis of the mandible – A rare case report

Hemavathy Bhaskar Rhabdomyosarcoma is a malignant tumor of skeletal muscle. It is the most common soft tissue sarcoma in children and adolescents. It rarely occurs in oral cavity and accounts for 0.04% of all head and neck malignancies. The incidence is 4.5 per 1 million children and 50% of cases are seen in the first decade of life. In this paper, we report a rare case of oral rhabdomyosarcoma in a 3 year old boy with involvement of buccal mucosa and extensive destruction of the mandible.
