An unusual cause of chest pain – Nocardiosis presenting as acute pericarditis in an immune-competent patient

We report a case of Nocardiosis presenting as acute pericarditis in an immune-competent patient is not only rare but also enlightening to clinicians, cardiologists and microbiologists especially in tropical countries. The patient was treated successfully with trimethoprim–sulphamethoxazole.
