L ‐DOPA‐induced dyskinesia in Parkinson's disease: Are neuroinflammation and astrocytes key elements?

This is determined by DA neurons death, neurotransmitters imbalance (glutamate, GLU) and DA increase by L‐DOPA treatment. It results in microglia and astrocyte activation simultaneously to elevated production of inflammatory mediators implicated in dyskinesia generation/maintenance.
