Letter From the Editors

Although we have published several articles that have been devoted to the prostate cancer1,2 in recent issues of the Seminars, we have decided that it is time to devote an entire issue to this subject. Prostatic cancer is the leading cause of cancer death in men and has been the subject of intensive investigation during the past decade. Significant advances have been achieved in diagnostic methodology using imaging techniques, including Nuclear Medicine, MRI, and Ultrasound. Although these methods have played a vital role in clarifying the extent of disease in patients with prostatic cancer, the diagnosis and treatment remain complex and highly controversial areas.
