The evolution of medical therapy for children with heart failure
The evolution of medical therapy for children with heart failure has largely moved in parallel with the development of knowledge concerning medical therapy in adults. Euphemisms aside, we dare say we in Pediatrics rode the coattails of our adult colleagues where the rigorous trial data and innovations originated. However, as we have heard it preached time and time again, “Children are not adults”, pediatric cardiovascular diseases are different, and the pediatric comorbidities are dissimilar from adults.
