WHO Director-General addresses the Regional Committee for Africa

19 August 2016 - In her address, Dr Margaret Chan compared the situation in Africa in 2007, when she first addressed the committee, with the situation today, describing the progress as “remarkable”. She praised African ministers of health for their commitment to universal health coverage and explained why the African Region stands to gain most from implementation of the 2030 Agenda for Sustainable Development.
