Wellness on Campus is Multi-Dimensional

It’s no secret that The Ohio State University prides itself on its athletic prowess. It was recently ranked the No. 1 college football program of all-time by the Associated Press, which examined more than 1,103 polls since 1936 to declare the Buckeyes the best of all-time on the gridiron – sorry Michigan, Notre Dame and Alabama. More relevant to recent events, though, The Ohio State University boasts an astounding team of Olympic athletes and coaches, spanning nine countries and a host of sports from rowing to rugby, wrestling and swimming. Quite obvious from their stature and accomplishments, these athletes exemplify hard work and physical and nutritional discipline. Despite these Scarlet- and Gray-centric accolades, we know that to strive to be the fittest campus in the world – a designation that doesn’t receive a medal or a spot at the podium or earn a White House visit – wellness and health-related efforts must extend beyond the stadium, field or gymnasium. That’s why we are advancing wellness initiatives that target all students, staff and faculty, and creating an environment of wellness by leveraging our grassroots strength, support from OSU leadership and strategic partnerships. At The Ohio State, we see health and wellness as something that isn’t just achievable for the uber athletic, but as a routine part of everyday campus life.
