Medical marijuana and pain management

Cannabis is one of the earliest known plants to be domesticated by humans, with evidence of its existence dating approximately 36 million years ago in central Asia. This plant grows easily in many conditions. Described simply, its fibrous stems are used to make rope, paper, and cloth, its seeds and oil provide nourishment, and its flowers create a controversial drug. As a recreational, medicinal, and even religious ceremonial substance, cannabis has endured a colorful and storied past, with one of the earliest formal records of medicinal purposes described in China in 2737 BC.
