ACR Members Appointed to Key CMS MACRA Committee

Ezequiel Silva III, MD, FACR, Gregory Nicola, MD, and Joshua Hirsch, MD, FACR & mdash; all experienced members of the American College of Radiology (ACR) leadership team & mdash; have been appointed to the Centers for Medicare and Medicaid Services (CMS) Medicare Access and CHIP Reauthorization Act (MACRA) Episode Care Groups and Resource Use Measures Clinical Committee. < br / > < br / > Convened by CMS, the MACRA Episode Care Groups and Resource Use Measures Clinical Committee will provide clinical input on the specifications for the care episode and patient condition groups that will be used as the basis for episode-based, risk-adjusted resource use measures suitable for use in the Merit-Based Incentive Payment System (MIPS). < br / > < br / > The appointments followed their nominations by the ACR and American Society of Neuroradiology. < br / > < br / > Silva is a diagnostic and interventional radiologist in San Antonio, chair of the ACR Commission on Economics, member of the ACR & rsquo;s MACRA Committee and recently appointed panel member for the American Medical Association (AMA) Relative Value Update Committee (RUC). He led his group practice to successful reporting of quality programs including the Physician Quality Reporting System (PQRS) since the program & rsquo;s inception in 2007.
