Usefulness of repeat review of head magnetic resonance images during presurgical epilepsy conferences

For medically intractable focal epilepsy, typically defined as a focal epilepsy that has proven intractable to 2 or more appropriately chosen and dosed anticonvulsants (Kwan et al., 2010), resective epilepsy surgery of the epileptogenic lesion has become the standard of care in select patients because of its superior efficacy (Dlugos, 2001; Engel et al., 2012; Jobst and Cascino, 2015; Paolicchi et al., 2000). In many institutions, patients are presented at a presurgical conference to solicit opinions from neurologists and neurosurgeons and also from neuroradiologists, neuropsychologists, and other providers.
