OC01_02 The Effect of Overall and Types of Physical Activity on Mortality and Cardiovascular Events in 17 Countries: Results From the Prospective Urban Rural Epidemiologic (PURE) Study
Physical inactivity accounts for 6% of global cardiovascular disease (CVD) burden. Studies from high income countries (HIC) have reported inverse associations of physical activity (PA) with all-cause mortality and CVD. It is not clear whether the protective effects observed in HIC is apparent in countries with lower incomes.
