OC02_09 Next Generation Data Collection and Organizing System to Support Population-Based Screening for Rheumatic Heart Disease

With advances in portable ultrasonography and the development of World Heart Federation guidelines for echocardiographic diagnosis of RHD, population-based screening for RHD is increasingly common in Africa and other endemic regions. Screening generates large and complex datasets, which makes paper-based and non-networked data systems impractical. To our knowledge, an electronic solution designed for use in the field did not exist.
