OC07_04 Decreasing Length of Hospital Stay Following a First Acute Myocardial Infarction (AMI) Aligns With Increasing Age of First AMI and Improved Case Fatality in Oxfordshire, a Region of England: A Database Study, 1975 to 2010

Reducing the length of stay for admitted hospital care has been supported in the UK National Health Service to release capacity, minimise waiting times, maximise productivity and improve patient experience. However, shortening hospital stay should only occur if it leads to improved outcomes, in particular decreases in case fatality.
