PS015 Hypertension Related Skills Retention Among Community Health Workers in Rural Western Kenya: Process Evaluation of the Lark Hypertension Study
Hypertension, the leading global risk factor for mortality, is increasing in prevalence in sub-Saharan Africa. LARK is a three-arm, cluster randomized controlled trial investigating whether Community Health Workers (CHWs) in Turbo and Kosirai districts of western Kenya, equipped with tailored behavioral communication strategies and decision support tools (paper-based or smartphone-based vs. usual care), can increase linkage and retention of hypertensive individuals to care, and thereby improve blood pressure.
