PS023 The Economic Burden of Heart Diseases in Brazil
Heart disease (HD) is currently the leading cause of death in the Latin American region and expected to remain so for future decades. HD imposes health care system and other costs to society through morbidity, premature mortality, carer costs and loss of productivity. The economic burden of heart disease in the Latin American region has not been previously quantified.
