PS154 Assessment of the Myocardial Performance Index in Patients With First Acute Myocardial Infarction

Left ventricular function estimated from 2D echocardiography correlates well with measurements from angiography and is useful in establishing prognosis after acute myocardial infarction (AMI). Further, a measure of left ventricular global myocardial performance combining systolic and diastolic function could be most useful in the assessment of cardiac function.
