PS168 Captopril Therapeutic Drug Monitoring in Paediatric Patients With Heart Failure: Comparison of Individuals With and Without Complex Congenital Pathologies
Within the recommended dosage range for any given drug, the individual clinical response of patients varies widely, this being particularly true in paediatrics. Whereas some genotype-response relationships have been identified, it is yet unknown whether and how do complex genetic disturbances affect drug metabolism. As part of a therapeutic drug monitoring (TDM) study of captopril to control heart failure (HF), we hypothesized that complex congenital pathologies might have an influence in its pharmacokinetics, and thus in clinical response.
