PS189 Safety and Efficacy of Percutaneous Left Atrial Appendage. Single Center-initial Experience
Atrial fibrillation (AF) increases by fivefold the risk of stroke and the left atrial appendage (LAA) is the main source of thrombus formation in the majority. Therefore, in patients with contraindication for long-term oral anticoagulation therapy, LAA closure is a potential alternative for stroke prevention in AF.
