PS192 Safety, Efficacy and Tolerance of IF Inhibitor Ivabradine in Patients With Atrial Fibrillation and Heart Failure: Diana Study

Atrial Fibrillation (AF) is the most common arrhytmia in Heart Failure (HF), and may lead to worsening of symptoms. A beta-blocker is the preferred treatment for Heart Rate (HR) control, but are often non-effecfive or not tolerated. Ivabradine is a new agent inhibiting If current, resulting in a decrease of HR without haemodynamic compromise. Thus, it is plausible that inhibition of If by ivabradine may slow AV node conduction and thereby reduce ventricular rate during AF.
