PS240 Clinical and Hemodynamic Analysis of the Treatment With Ivabradine in Severe Aortic Stenosis
Aortic stenosis is the most common valvular disease. Aortic valve replacement reduce mortality, but 33-50% of patients (pts) reject the intervention. No drug was shown to reduce mortality, but a high % of pts use beta blockers (BB), a negative inotropic drug. As in other cardiac pathologies, we assume that the reduction of heart rate (HR) in symptomatic severe aortic stenosis (SSAS) could be beneficial. We reduce HR with ivabradine, and change BB by ivabradine, safe drug without negative inotropic effect.
