How parental/caregiver substance use affects children

Pediatricians well know that it's not their patients who need treatment for substance use disorders (SUDs) — it's their patients' parents or caregivers. A clinical report published online last week by the American Academy of Pediatrics (AAP) gives recommendations on how pediatricians can screen families, what they are mandated to report, and how they can help the entire family in these situations.
