Ashfield Meetings & Events welcome four students for fifth year of placement scheme

The scheme, now in its fifth year, provides undergraduates with the opportunity to blend their educational theory with vocational insight and experiences through a year-long work placement. The scheme also allows the agency to strengthen relationships with academic institutions offering event management degrees. Working with universities throughout the UK, Ashfield Meetings & Events shortlisted candidates to attend a rigorous assessment centre in May. Subsequently, four students were chosen. Anna Bowman (University Of Gloucester), Rebecca Crabbe (Sheffield Hallam University) and Amber Holgate (Oxford Brookes University) join the agency as Project Executives whilst Joe McLoughlin (University Of Lancashire) joins as Marketing Assistant. The students started on Monday 4 July with a week-long induction programme at the agency’s UK headquarters. The induction helps to settle all new starters into their role, giving a thorough insight into all areas of the business as well as job-specific training. Helen Capelin (Head Of Operational Excellence) commented: “We have just completed the fourth year of our placement scheme and have said goodbye, but not farewell, to our most recent set of undergraduates. The students joining us this week are incredibly enthusiastic and excited about joining our agency and industry.
