Introduction Ischemic stroke is a therapeutic emergency that requires prompt care in a specialized stroke unit (SSU) under the supervision of a neurology specialist. There are only two SSUs in Burgundy (France). That is why, in order to reduce regional inequalities and to promote uniformity in access to healthcare (effective fibrinolysis when carried out shortly), thanks to telemedicine were developed in Burgundy within the Telestroke system. At the moment, no study assessed precisely the cost of fibrinolysis and fibrinolysis via a telemedicine network. Therefore the aim was to estimate the cost of fibrinolysis performed in a SSU and fibrinolysis with telecare in a spoke center. Materials and methods All patients presenting an ischemic stroke confirmed by cerebral imaging between the 1st January 2014 and 31st June 2014 and who underwent fibrinolysis (with or without telecare) were included in this retrospective multicenter observational study. The microcosting technique was used to estimate resources. They were then valued using data issued the financial department of each care center and hospital market data. Results Our sample is made up of 10 patients who received fibrinolysis via telemedicine and of...
