Is Eating Pasta Making You Fat?

I confess that one of my favorite comfort foods is Pasta. It doesn't matter whether it is spaghetti, ziti, macaroni, lasagna, or any other size shape or color, I love them all.Your comfort food may be different, but generally, comfort foods seem to be the ones that put on the most weight. Now that the weather is getting cold outside, this is even more of a problem for me. It seems that I'm drawn away from the salads of warm weather days to the heavier carbohydrate rich foods, the very foods that put more weight on me than any other food if I am not active enough to burn the carbs off.There are tools to help those of us who love our Pasta. Here are a few suggestions:1. This may seem obvious, but read on...look at the box that the Pasta comes in. On it you will find how many portions are in the box. It may surprise you to find how much more than the suggested amount you are eating, I was. In our super-size-it society, we are clueless as to what real portions are, even though all of our packaged foods indicate what a true portion is. 2. If you don't find it easy to portion pasta based on the packaging, there are tools to help. One example is the Healthy Pasta Portions Basket. There are other helpful portion control items made by the same manufacturer and other ideas at the link provided.3.
