GSK‐3β inhibitors reverse cocaine‐induced synaptic transmission dysfunction in the Nucleus Accumbens

In conclusion, D1 receptor ‐ GSK3β pathway, which mediates glutamatergic transmission in the NAc core through a presynaptic mechanism, plays an important role in acute cocaine‐ induced hyper‐locomotion. Acute cocaine produces a remarkable inhibition on the AMPA component EPSC via a presynaptic mechanism, we further demonstrated that the effect of cocaine is dependent on D1 dopamine receptor involved in GKS3β pathway.
