An Entirely New Day Dawns…

It was cold this morning in the Southland when I awoke around 6am.  There was also some patchy frost in shaded areas as Jack Frost nipped at our heels. I turned up my thermostat a few degrees to chase away the chill as I got breakfast started. I am hoping this morning will be the last frost until next year when fall arrives yet once again. I was in zombie land this morning as I ate my breakfast – staring off into space and not fully awake. Maggie was stretched out on her side as she lay on the kitchen floor at my feet.  She had her three plain scrambled eggs and she was happy.  Not only is eating a way to nourish our bodies, it is an important bonding ritual for the Magster and I.  Soon, Maggie will head back to bed to sleep off breakfast.  She can sleep on a whim and will be dreaming in minutes. I envy her of that.
