Cancer Specialists Gather to Discuss Innovations in Research and Treatment

As many as 30,000 cancer specialists from around the world are gathering in Chicago this week for the 52nd annual meeting of the American Society of Clinical Oncology (ASCO). The event runs from June 3rd through June 7th. It features the latest advances in clinical cancer research. News announced during each meeting includes the latest findings from cancer clinical trials, including new drug studies, which could change current standards of care. This year’s meeting will focus on the theme Collective Wisdom: The Future of Patient-Centered Care and Research, emphasizing that the combined knowledge from various disciplines, cancer types, treatment approaches, and big data technologies is essential to progress.
