Hodgkin lymphoma: Introduction

We would like to welcome you to this issue on Hodgkin lymphoma in the SEMINARS IN HEMATOLOGY. Hodgkin lymphoma was described by Thomas Hodgkin more than 175 years ago and has since become one of the best curable malignancies today. This progress is largely due to advances in radiotherapy and the development of effective multi-agent chemotherapy. Today, more than 80% of all patients affected can be cured with modern risk-adapted treatment. However, there still are substantial differences in current approaches, including the role of radiotherapy in early stage patients and the selection of the best chemotherapy for advanced stage patients (i.e.
