Executive dysfunction in patients with schizophrenia and bipolar disorders
Conclusion: There are executive deficits in the areas of set shifting, response inhibition, planning, verbal fluency, concept formation, and working memory in euthymic patients with bipolar disorder type I and stabilized schizophrenic patients with short duration of illness; this may indicate that executive dysfunction in both disorders may be a trait marker.
