Fabrication of GdBa2Cu3Oy Films by Liquid-phase-assisted Metal-organic Deposition Using Fluorine-free Solutions

Publication date: 2016 Source:Physics Procedia, Volume 81 Author(s): Y. Okabe, Y. Yoshikawa, R. Kita, H. Kubo, O. Miura, K. Yamada, K. Kaneko The fabrication of GdBa2Cu3O y (GdBCO) superconducting films by liquid-phase-assisted metal-organic deposition (LPA-MOD) was investigated as a new technique for the growth of thicker MOD films using fluorine-free solutions. A 300nm thick GdBCO film with a strong c-axis orientation was successfully grown on a MOD-GdBCO seed layer using Gd-Ba-Cu-O solution layers. A 600nm thick LPA-MOD GdBCO film had a critical current density (J c) of 1.28 MA/cm2, which is higher than that of the MOD GdBCO seed layer alone.
